Odd WM pricing with Rotella T5.

Around here and if it’s in stock, Rotella T5 10w30 is about $16 a gallon in store. Their online price is about $27 a gallon plus $6 for shipping. Anybody experience this? Perhaps it’s just a regional thing.

Is the "online price" from WalMart, or is it from a third party vendor?

I just looked, and for me it is $27.31 online, and the vendor appears to be WalMart. I'm just one state over from you.

Also noticed WalMart shows 10w30 T4 Ultra, for $19.39 a gallon.

I've had better luck with getting Rotella at a good price at Rural King or Menards. Not sure if either is a possibility with you.

Walmart.com prices are frequently not in sync with in store prices, some times stuff is cheaper in store, some times it's cheaper to order online for pickup. Best bet is to check the inventory for the local store, you can usually find it by googling the store address and inventory

Walmart online is generally poor. Once in a while you can determine if something is in stock for pickup, but its nowhere as good as say, Home Depot’s website.

I found the Rotella Ultra although I think it’s T5. What’s the difference between this and the original?

I wonder if the original is being phased out.

T5 Ultra is FA-4 oil, which uses a thinner base oil and has a lower HTHS viscosity than regular T5. FA-4 is geared towards fuel economy in certain newer diesel engines.
