Not sure if peanut oil will make it t Christmas after hard use today. Purchaed in 2 gallon jug from wallmart and used outdoors at 425 for 3 hours including one hour warmup. 3 quarts for topoff for full coverage.

if you give it a good filter it should be OK. only thing you have to worry about it is going rancid on you, from the deposits remaining in the oil. commercially we'll use canola oil straight up, no additives. it's good for about 5 days of regular use, staying at 350 temp for 12+ hours a day.

also why are your temps so high? peanut oil is known to have a higher smoking point than many other conventional oils, but 425 is crazy high. did you end up burning/scorching the oil? in general, if you can see 4-5 inches "through" the oil, it's not dark enough to change.

Hope it's not m1 peanut oil! Could cause fryer tick. On a more serious note to bad you couldn't find a food grade bypass filter.
