Hello All,

I posted about an oil reccommendation for my Acura last month, but I would like to revisit the subject. The owners manual calls for a 7500 mile OCI and 5w30. Would it be reasonable to use Mobil One 5w-30 and follow the 7500 miles? I have never run oil that long, but I am using so many miles these days, that an extended OCI is more attractive to me. I drive 600-700 mile per week. Half is in Chicago city traffic and the rest is interstate. I do the oil changes myself and would prefer to use an oil that I can buy at Walmart or Autozone. I am not all that interested in doing UOAs etc..

I'd go ahead and do that OCI with M1. I would think these motors are easy on the oil so going 7500 miles shouldn't be a problem.

I'm at ~4K on the M1 0W-30 in my 2000 3.2TL and I'm not planning on changing it for another 2 months.

Yep, you can do 7,500 mile OCIs with M1 5W-30 with confidence. One of the beauties of that viscosity is that you can buy 5 quart jugs at Walmart for only $20!
