Pushing past 7K is probably a function of how many months it takes him to get to 7K.

If his worst problem is he spent $20 too much on oil on his Camaro good for him. I'd be spending the $20 on other maintenance and I'm sure he will. He can PP and filter at WM for under 25 that will get him the same 7K, rotella syn t & filter for under $20 and ST syn & filter for under $15.

Given how he may likely drive the car, I wouldn't push the oci's beyond 7k.

I do 5k ocis with synthetics, don't usually drive like a maniac, and I've yet to get a really good UOA on my Firebird.

To save dough, he may want to return a quart. You only change 4.5 quarts with the filter on that car, and it would leave half a quart for top-off.

My younger brother just did an oil change in his '01 Camero 3.8 with around 40-50k miles.

His last oil change was with M1 10-30 last fall.

This time he didnt consult his older and wiser brother and went to AZ and spent $40 on 6 qts of M1 EP 5-30 (1 for make up refill) and M1 filter.

Unlucky for him and lucky for me he never spied my M1EP 5qt jug stash (1/2 off) and other misc heavily discounted synthetic oil stash.

He drives it like a typical 18 year old would, like a moron. He pulls about 70/30 city/hiway miles. At least he does not spill as much oil on thge driveway like he used to.
What would be a good OCI for him?

Minimum 7k miles? Can he push it to 10k miles?
