Any recommendation for getting rid of nut sedge chemical that won't kill my grass ?

When we had an infected field, we would fertilize it and after a few days hit it with glyphosate. The fertilizer caused rapid growth that increased uptake of the glyphosate. Can’t help the grass though.

I am in N. Texas; I use this Ortho product - Ortho Nutsedge Killer
The silver part is now black though. I get mine at Home Depot, they have a hose end type for larger areas and a handheld size for spot treatment...not too expensive, it works and won't kill the grass.

I used Sedge Ender years ago in Texas, it killed that entire portion of my lawn. I'm not talking about just brown grass, I'm saying it reduced that entire section of my lawn to dirt. I hired a lawn company to abate the soil and put down new sod.

Anymore, I just pull some of it every day until it's gone. That's been the most effective tool I've used.

Tenacity (40% mesotrione) is supposed to kill yellow nutsedge and several other weeds without killing many types of grass. Read the label to be sure of which grasses are safe.

Sedgehammer with a surfactant since these buggers have a waxy protective coating. If the problem is isolated you can also try pulling them with the roots after a good rain soaking.

Gordons Trimec will kill it. it takes a while though but stops it from growing. It will come back and you have to repeat the next year. The second spray usually kills it off for good.

Ironically I like for it to grow in the dry sloppy shady areas here. It's a great erosion control plant.
