I just got my patrol car... 2003 Crown Victoria. The paint was very nasty. Seeing that I wanted to clean it up, but not have to detail it like it was my POV, I chose to use NuFinish on the car. I use Zaino for my POVs and I have Rejex for the windows. I know that Zaino is very picky on how the paint must be prepped and I did'nt have time to apply Rejex out of the sun and keep it "protected" for 12 hours. I used a brand new brick of claybar and by the time I finished the entire car, the bar was destroyed and could no longer be used. Having said that, there was still a little dirt and stuff on the paint, but the NuFinish took it right out. I was also worried about it damaging the reflective decals, but it actually cleaned it up and didn't stain. I will have to say that NuFinish gets an A+ for this type of detail for its practicality. Now I will see how many auto car washes it can go through and see if it can live up to its one year/52 wash claim.

I used NuFinish in the late nineties with great results. I liked it and would use it again. Will it last 52 car washes? I don't think it did on my Ranger. Although I washed that truck by hand. After a bit I resorted to Turtle Wax Car Wash with the wax built into the soap. I really liked that stuff used in conjunction with the NuFinish.

NuFinish brings back nasty memory. The stuff smelled like a deadly chemical, stained any trim it touched, and generally was a bear to apply and remove. It seems more to be a paint cleaner than a wax and I dreaded using it so I slacked off and let the car suffer.
Since then I got educated and there are so many products that are better. My brother in law was NuFinish man too but I gave him a bottle of Mothers Reflections and now he is waxing everything. You really need to appreciate what easy on/easy off, non-toxic smell, lack of staining, and nice shine really mean.

I know what you mean about the stains. I put NuFinish on my 95 Neon a while back and it stained the trim. I didn't get any on the patrol car though and it didn't stain the striping. Like I said, I would use other stuff, but the other stuff usually requires a better prepped paint surface than I had to offer. It was not hard at all to apply it either, I don't know why you had problems with it. It just rained and now the water is beading up and the paint is smooth. I will just use the cheap old NuFinish on this car and the other stuff on my POVs.
Ya but how long will that last compared to NuFinish? All other waxes I have tried with the exception of Zaino have only lasted like 3 months. I haven't tried the stuff you mentioned, but it just seems like most of the other stuff doesn't last as long. I don't feel like detailing this car often.
Well I'm worried that it won't last very long because I can get free touchless car washes. If I get that you better believe I will use that instead of having to wash it myself and the fact that we are on water restrictions. Having said that, I'm kind of worried that the soap they use for the touchless washes are harsh and I will end up only getting like a month out of the application. I probably end up washing it maybe 2-3x a week since it gets dirty pretty quick.
NuFinish is great if you just want a quick and easy shine. I put it on my Intrepid last weekend. It looks great. I am sure more time and a more expensive product might improve the look a little. But thats all I am doing.
Nu-Finish has been in my detailing arsenal for many years. I use it on the older vehicles as it is easy to use and provides some UV protection. I go upscale on my newer vehicles though.

Awesome stuff and will make the water just fly off the car. I was allowed 1 full wash a week at a discounted State price on our fuel card. I usually washed it myself though and used Meguiars Gold Class.

I just checked on the interweb to see what that is then saw a youtube video of someone pouring water on the hood of their car after putting that stuff on. Wow, that stuff repelled water like no tomorrow. I might have to try some of that stuff. Maybe put a quick coat of it on after getting a car wash.
