Ran across this video. The whole manufacturing process looks pretty good except for how they seal the 2 ends. Wix,fram, denso etc all use some sort of positive seal be it a metal crimp or a sealant.

At the 13:00 mark they just staple the ends together. How can that seal? Won't dirt be able to get around the 2 ends?

 
amazing child labor and no workplace safety.

Not great but the staples are after they tuck the pleats together..
 
Is what it is to be honest... at least they're hard at it and if those were made in the U.S. it'd cost 3x more and likely be no better.
Yeah and probably leave every other staple out for cutting costs. The filter world seems to be going down the 🚽. EV’s don’t need no filter. Green New Designs.
