The power comes from a thermal radioactive decay. It has a half life of 88 years so the thermopile is not as hot, and some experiments have already been shut down. In another 10 to 30 years the thermopile output will be insufficient to keep things heated up and on. They are already rationing power The probe will then enter cold storage never to run again.
