Looks good. I would not be happy with the amount of varnish though especially with frequent oil changes. My 2003 had the gasket change with 10000 mile OCI and it was clean.

I would have been tempted to test the Berrymans Chem Dip on half of the valvetrain. Perhaps an industrial spray bottle and a light brushing.

Not that it would make a difference in performance just to see the before/after.

Up until about 5 years ago, this car just sat in my garage (like my LS430 does now). I wouldn't drive it 3K in a year as I had my other "junkers" as daily drivers.

But as I aged like opened Dr Pepper, I found that I felt a lot better physically after driving the ‘98 LS400 as compared to the ‘94 Nissan and the 2000 Acura Integra. My legs and back didn't hurt and I was much more refreshed after driving.

I convinced myself to sell my other cars and make my LS 400 my daily driver. Of course, I had to find a replacement for her, which I did. Now my LS430 is my garage kept trickle charged mistress.
