It allows me to use a reader that would work on my pocketPC. All the graphics kill my bandwidth and make it hard to read on a mobile platform.
Plus, it makes the experience better for those of us who don't just surf BITOG. I can get all of my stuff together in one place and avoid my job more efficiently.
I see RSS Feeds folder in my Yahoo Mail - but I have no idea what it does or how to work it...

RSS allows you to take multiple "feeds" from seperate sites and have them all in one are. You read the threads like you would email. Firefox will read RSS feeds also, but there are specific clients (extra software) that does the job a little better IMHO.
It's not for everyone, but if you have multiple sources of information it is really slick. I can track several Blogs that I follow and I don't have to visit each one.

I mentioned RSS feeds in another thread and previously with the old software. RSS feeds let you view multiple "headlines" from different site all at once. Personally I use the Google home page, which works great for this.
All you need for an RSS feed is a simple php page with access to the database, most board software offers a "mod" for this, but it is pretty simple and doesn't affect the board.
