I wanted a vanilla (non HM) synthetic 10w30 for my mower’s gearbox, but my small town Walmart didn’t have any. They didn’t even have a spot for it on the shelf. I know it’s slightly outdated, but I figured there’d still be plenty of people running the stuff too.

The only vanilla 10w30 was conventional ST and conventional Castrol.

You probably picked the wrong day to shop there. Many stores only fill the shelves one day per week...... some one day per every-other-week.

At my two nearest Walmarts', I know what day of the week the store oil shelves are stocked. Much like this topic, I was always going for my oil a day or two prior to the 53 ft trailer arriving to restock items on store shelves.

As far as 10w30 goes, it's a slowly dying grade of ILSAC / GF6 / API.......etc. New vehicles today that gather around the Dexos Standard, have little use for grades that are not inside Owners Manuals of 2024-2025 models.
Our (2) Hyunkias' love their 10w30. I made sure to include it (along with 5w30) in my HPL order purchase.

0ne grade I will never buy again for these 2019-2020 Hyunkias is 0w30 Euro. A very expensive engine sound failure. I never thought the day would occur when I would fill my sump with $14 a-quart oil and need a bottle of Rislone to quiet the engine.

It seems like every-other-decade Rislone comes to my rescue for something. It's a product I trust, dating back to the early 1970s with noisy lifters, on the last Ford that I will ever own.
