No Magent on Manual Trans Drain Plug

Just drained the transmission oil on my 2011 4WD Tacoma with a 5-speed manual. There is no magnet on the drain plug. The only thing that differentiates it from the fill plug is that the fill has a dab of yellow paint, the drain a dab of orange.

Did they mess up in manufacturing? Should I worry?

I should mention that I did the front/rear diffs last weekend, and they had magnets. Not sure about the transfer case. Haven't done that yet.

Only one of my Honda MT's had a magnet on the plug. A P.O. who was worried like you probably installed one, there is a part number for them somewhere.

The magnet is likely a permanently-installed unit that's somewhere inside the transmission's case. That's how Honda often does it, anyway.

As for the paint, it's the factory's quality-control device to indicate to line inspectors that the bolt has been torqued to spec.

True, I forgot about the magnet in the case... but after a bit id imagine it would be full and otherwise useless until you cracked the case and cleaned it off...
