The Nissan dealer is looking for NS2 to put in power steering units. Anyone know what would be special about these steering units?
Or what the fluid is like?

I think they're mixed up. NS2 is a CVT fluid and I can't imagine why it would be 'required' for power steering. A good, compatible hydraulic/ATF should be all you need.

Some mfg will spec the same fluid for transmission & PS to keep it simple so maybe that's what's happened here?

Isn't that CVT fluid? I have not yet heard of any Nissan P/S system specifying NS-2, only Nissan power steering fluid or Dexron VI in the latest models.

That's why I'm asking. At first I thought maybe Nissan is needing the new fluids like my Grand Cherokee that uses the thin Pentosin type.

I run Mobil 1 ATF in my Nissan Frontier and have for 5.5 years. Dealer's mechanics where I bought it told me to use this and I have not had a single problem with the PS system.
