A 83 year old guy I know, who drives a 30 year old car and knows nothing about newer cars, told me his grandson just bought a Nissan Alzheimer.

I responded that the Nissan Alzheimer is popular with oldsters who get lost going to and getting back home from their drives.

( he "misremembered" the car model. It was a Nissan Altima. )

When I was a kid, I remember seeing a new car cruise by and could just make out the script above the taillight. I went home and told an older sibling I'd just seen an Oldsmobile Tornado, and how cool I thought the name was! That was no Tornado, they said, it was a Toronado. Toronado?? What kind of a goofy made-up word was that? :D

Tornado is still cooler.webp

Don't feel bad. A really funny comedian's mom (can't remember his name off hand) wanted him to get her tickets to her favorite singer Salon Dijon. He replied "You mean Celine Dion?" Yeah that's the one.

Then there is the story of the young Mexican woman who talked about one of her favourite vehicles, the FISO.

When told there was no such thing. She said "that's impossible, I see them everywhere."

We can only suppose she was referring to the F-150. Which you have to admit, does kind of look like FISO.
That's funny as the F-150 in Mexico is branded the Ford Lobo (Wolf).
