If you cross the CANADA/USA border a lot and don't have a criminal record, a Nexus card will speed things up. I just renewed mine. $50 US for 5 years. It gets you into the quick Nexus line at the airport and minimizes the interrogation process. If you cross in a car, all passengers would have to have one, otherwise you can't use it. I find it's worth it as we clear US customs in Calgary on the way to the USA by plane, which can be a long lineup. It took 4 months to process my renewal.

The other thing is they would now have a record of your iris's and your fingerprints. ( I guess the boys from northern Idaho won't like that. JK).
