whats the next commonly available thickness oil up in weight from 10w x30?

My adult son has a 94 camry with 150k miles that runs great but burns a little oil. he uses 10x30 and is in a mild climate.
So should he use thicker oil?

I was trying to administer a conservative unbiased answer. Wasn't easy.

I would try the auto-rx also. I'm currently going through 2 cleaning cycles on my '96 Roadmaster Wagon.

Some high mileage 10w30s are thicker. IIRC Citgo Ultralife is or at least was.

An easy way to go thicker without going all the way to 10w40 is to mix the two. If he takes 5 quarts, do 2 or 3 10w30 and the rest 10w40.

Don't worry, he'll come back next with the 10w-40 Maxlife

Add PCV valve, hose and grommet which are usually leaking at 150K. Usually shows on hood above valve as black dirt.
