New wix xp

I guess the Boss is what I will start to buy, but by then everything will change again. Mann is a good company with a long history. I trust their reputation on the media manufacturing. I like the polyester versus glass. Never knew that before. The Boss doesn’t use the black glue for end caps. I’ll just spend the extra $5 once a year or get lucky on a sale. It says USA with no exceptions, like made from global materials. I hope it doesn’t say that.

what does Toyota do for their OEM filters? their cars seem to hold up well.
I bet that with most vehicles, including Toyotas, that less than 1/3rd of their owners go to the dealer and use OEM filters. My guess is that 2/3rds or more either use a fast lube place or DIY (I’m sure DIY isn’t a huge percentage these days though)

Denso. The few I have used were junk. They drain over night and I put one on a car at work and the can leaked at the crimp.
When you say they drain over night - you mean the ADBV doesn't hold?

I have been using the Dealer version them since our Toyota was new and have noticed no issue but that engine is ridiculously noisy at start so its possible. I do believe there a jobber filter at best. Never more than 5K OCI.

I ran the regular "Denso" one once on my truck - it appeared to be well constructed and never had a dry start - on the truck I would notice. But again just a basic filter.

This filter shell game is nutty frustrating. Finally found the MP supertech a couple years ago - now that option is gone. Found the pricey Wix XP worked well in the Subaru (Fram Ultra did NOT) - now that's gone - along with the much appreciated base-end located bypass valving.

If there is a filter I really like, I buy half a dozen. It’s so frustrating thinking that next year your favorite filter will be inferior.
