What they really need is an oil named "Cheap Insurance" that stuff would sell like hot cakes to BITOG members.

Now THIS does get my attention. I remember the Valvoline rep a few weeks ago telling me verbatim "Valvoline uses no moly because it's an out dated old school technology".
Valvoline Un-Modern Engine !Yes, and this is for out-dated old school engines! Makes perfect sense!

I bought a jug of the 5W20 and posted a VOA in that forum:I would consider this for my 200k plus LS motors. Have not seen it on the shelves

That's not a healthy dose of moly.I bought a jug of the 5W20 and posted a VOA in that forum:
Valvoline MaxLife 150K Synthetic Blend 5W20
Healthy dose of moly, decent TBN and high viscosity for a 5W20. Valvoline advertises a KV100 of 8.8, so the 8.77 result is spot on. Is anyone willing to do a VOA of the 5W30? :)bobistheoilguy.com

Many others have more than 180
Good point. And 160 is still over double what we typically see in most oils, regardless of which form. How would you know? Some forms of moly are as effective at 75 ppm as others at 300 ppm.
How would he be saving money by buying and using an unneeded oil additive? How about save your money and add some LiquiMoly Oil Additiv.

Saw this on the Valvoline site when using their oil selector. It doesn't appear in the "Products" tab so no other info such as a PDS sheet. Something new on the horizon maybe?

High mileage oils have more to do with environmental waste and less to do with engine protection.I would consider this for my 200k plus LS motors. Have not seen it on the shelves

It may well be possible for the high mileage oil to give a satisfactory level of protection; however what may come undone if the oil filter is not up to the job during the extended oil change intervals and the fact that direct injection engines are very hard on engine oils
