NEW valvoline extended protection 75/90-140 gear oil .............. any thoughts ????

Any thoughts on the NEW valvoline gear oils ......I've been running royal purple in my ram for 100,000k ....... thanks

Appears they are using “Extended Protection” like better protection rather than longer OCI. I’ll stick with Delvac 1 or ASG that are made for longer runs …

I like Valvoline, in fact a jug is on deck for the next OCI for my car.

However this claim irks me:

• The only full synthetic premium gear oil in a flexible pouch, making it easer to use and work in tight spaces

Pretty sure Amsoil has had them beat on that for a number of years.

Short of poorly researched marketing, I bet it will be a truly great product.

Strong on the marketing and low on info.

So maybe its 1.01x the wear protection of their syn gear oil?
