I can't believe you guy are still talking about this after 230 somethin' posts. Just give it time to play out. Jeebuz. It's like some of you guys are standing on skyscraper ledges with your laptop hanging on every reply.

Troll...Troll...anti-troll
speedtc is on a roll
Give him money...give him cash
And he'll give GC the bash

So when he writes you must relax
Cause GC fans he likes to axe
Just take a sip of the Golden Brew
And speedtc won't bother you.

Beautiful Paul!

Rest assured, he doesn't bother me (but I still plan to enjoy some golden brew tonight -- the kind made with barley and hops, not PAO and esters)!

Stressing over oil reduces stress in other areas of my life. And now, to go back to communing with my oil stash (I'm OK as long as it doesn't talk back.).

At Auto Zone, pre-GC and GC have the same SKU. Their retail outlets have no way of knowing that these are two distinctly different products. They have no way of keeping track of inventory, so no way ot knowing that the M01xxxxx and the M06087xx are not the same.

They don't even have a way of discounting the pre-GC product to get rid of it.

I don't think that I would buy the pre-GC if it were $0.50 a quart. It should be removed, it is over 5 years old and (I don't know if it is true or not) expired, at least by Castrol "standards". Auto-zone carries the oil, is the only one in the USA that carries the oil. They should know what they have from a marketing standpoint and remove the pre-GC before someone mistakes it for GC (which I am sure has happened, even though no one would ever admit it). Just my $0.02.

Just curious, is anyone willing to admit to using pre-GC? Any used oil analysis on the pre-GC? Extended OCI's?

Nope, I wouldn't use it either.

Just stopped at the AZ closest to my house. The newest stock present is M06044... It has That new "European Formula" language on the front, and you guessed it, "Made in Germany" on the back. It doesn't prove the non-existence of the mysterious, undocumented AC, but it does suggest mistaken ID. I'll post some pics later.

My local AutoZone got M06087, made in Germany.
So far it remains the newest batch reported.

I just bought 6 quarts of the M06087, it was all that was at my local AZ today. No mystery. I still believe that there was a case of mistaken identity and that post-GC is a hoax.
