Thanks Bruce. It appears the only change is that they increased Mg, and lowered the Ca.

Bruce!!! Just awesome!!! Hey man, you rock!!! BTW, I've found a couple of misplaced digits in the batch numbers. The batches should look like this: ..........Green.....Green.....Green.......Green........Gold ..........M04023..M04097..M04280...M05010.......M05028 P.........1076......1105......1123.......1222...........903 ZN.......1277......1187......1287.......1348...........1157 CA.......3401......3683......3431.......3428...........1941 MG.......222........218.......238.........229............770 TBN......9.03.......8.47......8.81........9.03...........9.03 [ September 10, 2005, 02:20 AM: Message edited by: vad ]

I did not run IR could do so but whats the point when I did do IR on the gold it had the same polymer/ester as the green. So I'm sure gold and green differ only in additive system. I do not remember but years ago only 1 or 2 additive Mfg used MG in there PCMO thought it was Paramins/Infinieum then also remember something about MG reacting slower and allowing longer OCI's I'm sure thats wrong but do not remember maybe some one can bring me up to date. All I use is CA systems form LZ or Afton. bruce

That is great news. I think it's safe to say it's just an additive chemistry change. [Smile]

Isn't Ca the more expensive of the Ca/Mg detergents? Also, doesn't Ca turn into soft ash and remain suspended in the oil? I thought Mg turned into abrasive ash and formed hard deposits, which is why producers were turning to Ca instead of Mg for their long-OCI oils.

That's nothing. But the lack of gummibear smell makes it really hard to like. [Smile]

No! I find it very easy to like an oil that posts results like this one does. I've been very pleased with its behavior in the three vehicles in which I've tried it. Show us some evidence that it's not good stuff, and I'd be willing to look at that. [Cheers!]

Well..... There's been one report of lower TBN. Another report saying it's the same TBN. I'm gonna' wait for a 3rd TBN report before I show my "All Clear" sign & venture over to Auto Zone. Right now.... the game is tied!
