Does anyone know of any other conventional 10W-40 that meets SM specs?

RAY H : Valvoline All Climate and Valvoline Maxlife 10w40 have SM in the API service donut ,but its not energy conserving. So its meets the engine protection requirements but not the fuel saving requirements.

Conoco has already toyed with this blend in the Kendall lineup. Probably won't see it in the Motorcraft name because Ford may not want it.

Looks like ConocoPhillips has a full lineup of viscosity grades slated for the Tropartic brand. My speculation is that Kendall & Tropartic will be the premium brands of the ConocoPhillips family with Conoco & Union 76 playing a lesser role. Note: It's highly unlikely that a 10W-40 will ever qualify for GF-4 or the energy conserving starburst. It would have to better the 1% minimum fuel economy increase over the reference oil, a 5W-30 PAO, in the Sequence VIB Fuel Economy test.
