The GM LS engines are very popular in Australia and many people use Castrol Edge 10W60 in them. Just saying.....

I have the same 4.8L engine and 4L60 w 183k miles. Use 0,5 or 10w30 in any brand u prefer. Conventional, blend and syn will work. I prefer the longer AC delco oil filter. Right now I have Pennzoil Ultra 5w30 in the motor w delco filter, Valvoline MaxLife ATF w wix transmission filter, supertech 75w90 in the diff, supertech power steering fluid, supertech dot 3, valv multi purpose grease in the fittings, OReillys orange dexcool, fram air filter, micro guard cabin filter, techron and marvel in the gas and Nu Finish on paint. no piston slap, no leaks, runs good. Enjoy ur truck.

I recommend Valvoline Maxlife Full Synthetic in 5w30 or 10w30. The LS engine isn't picky.

If you don't care to stay with one brand all the time then you could always run whatever synthetic 5 or 10w30's you find on sale. Thats what i do with my 08!

We are all just sitting at the end of the Internet, with a bag of 2 cent pieces, waiting to hand them out.

Very nice looking truck. There sure is a difference in the way older trucks look down south as compared to the same model year here in Michigan.

Do they call that paint "Bronze Mist Metallic" ?

It's the same exact color as my Buick.

I have the window sticker and it just says Pewter Metallic.

I think it will look better once I buff it and get rid of the camper shell.

My 1998 Chevy C1500 W/T was the same color, I really liked it.

From the looks of that truck I gather an elderly gentleman owned it. I would get rid of the camper shell as well and get a tonneau cover. Camper shells make a truck just look "old man".

You could probably sell that shell on Craigslist for a few bucks.

That explains it. That explains why your truck looks ever so slightly more grayish than my Buick. Interesting.

It was an 83 year old man who I bought the truck from. I kind of like the security and the dry storage in the bed, but to me it does look like an old man truck. With that said I put it on Craigslist but no bites yet. What do you guys think a fair price would be for a camper shell?
