New spark plugs - feeler gauge

If they are from the dealer, I say just use them and don't worry about the gap unless you see indications that it's been damaged.

While the feeler would work, it's really only useful if you need to adjust and need to verify a gap.
 
No, no normal feeler gauge will work properly on these type plugs. The end of the ground strap is slightly curved.
With a flat gauge you would be measuring the ends of the ground strap. These are done at the factory with a special gauge.
 
So I wonder why official service manual says in bold to check and actually shows picture of flat one going across.

I guess I will not worry about.

Thats correct FSM says check gap - if gap is not correct replace spark plug ...
