I was at Walmart the other day and I noticed that some of their EverStart Maxx batteries have something of a secret date code (i.e. K4, J6, etc) rather than the obvious numeric date code (i.e. 11/22, 1/23, etc). Any idea how to decipher the alpha-numeric codes?

If you can find a paper catalog in the walmart (laminated glossy paper) it will explain the codes and warranty policies in the back pages.

I know there are electronic thingies for battery selection, but you might find a paper one too. Ask the TLE guys.

IIRC, A1 is Jan 2021, while L should be Nov/ Dec, depending on if they skip "I".

Different manufacturers?
Nope, won't be that because the stickers in question are put on in the store, when the battery goes on the shelf for sale. Same stickers get used for ALL of their batteries. People seem to think these stickers indicate when the battery was "made" though and that's not true. If it's a high-volume selling battery, it can be close though.
