New Motorcraft FL-1A cut open

So thinner can and dome end bypass... looks like pure Purolator to me ...

Hopefully this does not happen to the FL400S FL910S.
 
No doubt still Purolator made. Decision and approval on FL1A move to dome bypass and can thickness in greatest likelihood, would have to be one by FoMoCo, imo. Personally, in decades of diy O&F change, never an issue with any can thickness. I have no idea where majority location of FL1A, I suppose if very exposed down low and/or with lots of off roading, 'might' be an issue. Plus side, more media area.

Be interesting to see if other MC follow suit, and if not why topic chosen. Fwiw, even though I don't use them, (no appropriate vehicle) prefer others they keep current design.

As an aside, not a fan of the yt maker sensationalized graphics and proclamations. Takes away from credibility of the video, imo. And much of info (e.g. weights) un-useful minutia, imo.
