While at WM yesterday I spot checked different size M1 20,000 mile oil filters and left impressed (visually) at the consistency of the build quality , uniformity , cleanliness and each filter had a plastic seal on the open side.
The area where you screw in the oil filter to your engine was extremely clean , shiny and had zero burrs . The inside leauvers were perfect round openings while the gasket and exterior black cases were perfect (looked like Mobil had each exterior cannister oil filter waxed before leaving the factory). Build wise, this M1 oil filter was as nice or nicer than my recently bought CarQuest Premium oil filters . I definately would consider using M1 oil filters in the future once my CarQuest Premium and Fram Endurance oil filter stash is used up .

Subscribed to find out from our resident filter experts just how good these are. My Ultra stash is just about depleted..........

For the first time ever, I just used an M1-110A canister filter on my Honda. You're right, the filter felt very substantial and solid. I noticed that the gasket is pre-lubed as well.

Not sure what a leauver is, but assuming that you're talking about the inlet holes - that's what happens when you perf holes in a flat surface and then put an adequately strong pressure pad on top of it while forming in a subsequent operation. That or they perf the holes after form, but that's not how I'd lay out this stamping process.

Did the M1 filter have round holes or louvers ?

Geez, think we talked about this subject over 20 times already. 🤣🤣🤣

Some people just want to be spoon-fed information because using a search function it's just too much work for them 😫

Think he's calling holes in the center tube (not base plate) "leauvers".

The old Mobil filters made by M+H have louvers in the center tube, and the new Mobil filters made and handled through Highline Warren have round holes in the center tube.

Sorry for the delay - inner tube had round holes .

Sorry, I don't care who makes the filter. It's not staying on any of my engines for 20k. You can throw all the stats at me you want. Oil change and filter @ 3k. Can't teach an old dog new tricks :)

It appears guys here are still afraid to put another marques filter on your car? Will it explode?
You know are doing just that with the "one shoe fits all" aftermarket selection.

Before you comment, I am aware some aftermarket are addressing the std and high bypass settings where spec'd with differing p/n's

I am retired now and driving about 400 miles a month with not much highway - so I just do only Spring and Fall seasonal changes at about 2500 miles. Sounds insane when I type it out, but direct injection and town crawlin' aint good for the oil and engine.
