This has been going on for about 6 months now, but in addition to everything else I do day to day, I am the administrator for the fluid sampling program for our company. I have almost 50 branches to look after, and I get to see all sorts of neat results, as well as working with the techs and service staff.
Keeping it kinda vague as I am not sure how much I can say. Been a fun and busy time to keep on top of everything.

Maybe a mining company?

Had a job like that made me wear several hats. Was responsible for health/safety/water purification/personnel records/pay records/operation funds and armory security. Occasionally veterinary issues. I remember tasked with taking oil viscosity samples from the electrical generating diesel engines.

Felt I was under appreciated/under paid but time off was mucho fun.

My sister did a stint as an environmental chemist. Besides "the chemistry" of the sewage treatment plant, making sure no shortcuts were taken is part of the job; an interesting position for a woman. The guys were 'practiced crude', so Sis had to play it as straight and by-the-book as you could imagine.

Will other Canadians be able to send you used oil samples for analysis like we used to send to Blackstone?
Not sure, but I will add it to my next meeting with the Bob's.
We may also have a location closer to you that saves you shipping halfway across the country.

what sort of fluids?

OP excited about a job doing fluids sampling. But can't tell us about it.

How about you check with "the Bobs" and then come back and let us know when you actually can tell us the details.

Until then ... this thread really doesn't serve much purpose. Locked.
