I'd wonder why. My Lawn Boy w/Honda engine has a in line filter and a fuel shut off.
Shut off the fuel in the fall and run the carb dry. Some times I run Stabl in fall as well but
not every year.

Honda's hate alcohol gas. I noticed that, when customers follow my advice to use non alcohol gas, I see them less often. Kind of shot myself in the foot I guess. Honda's will get better 'mileage', and last longer, period.

Honda 160cc (the K Mart of Honda's) and a Briggs Quantum are pretty comparable, but the new Briggs are just not as good as the Honda.

Briggs are made from a lot of Chinese parts, but unfortunately, so is Honda. I think the difference is that the 'slaves' that make Honda parts are beaten more often, and have better raw materials to work with. That translates to a better product.

I know that I have no idea what I'm talking about (just ask!), but I do know that I'm getting overrun with new Briggs parts from the ones that come in with part of the rod sticking out of the case...not because of lack of oil.

If the Honda still comes with that moving spring choke, I don't recommend buying it. After a few years (about 75 starts later), the spring sticks and needs to be manually moved-along. Cleaner sprays and oil sprays won't relieve the sticking spring.

Hopefully Honda now offers a built-in, auto choke system, that needs no prime before starting. I just bought new last year and I would never buy a push mower, where the oil cannot be changed. So keep that in-mind also.
