Hey everyone im new.. Ive been searching the board for information im after, i won't ask any one dump newbie quesitons till im absolutly sure i cant find what im after.

Just to say what kinda oil and stuff ive been using.

I use Chevron Dello 400 15w40 in my VW scirocco and also in my Subaru GL. paired with Wix filters.

I just bought an Eagle Talon Turbo and im looking for a good oil to use. Its got some oil leaks manly one from the oil return line coming from the turbo...i can fix that. other than that i dont see any major leaks. I don't know what oil the previous owner has been using. he had a quart of Cyntec and Castrol synthetic blend in the car...but im still skeptical on what oil he was relaly using.. the first oil change i did i used Castrol GTX conventional oil...but after alot of searching I have come to thnk conventional oil isnt the best for this car. Im here to learn. so if you ahve any pointers fire away.

Well....my 2 cents are to give

Mobil 1 Extended Performance a try. I have been using it in my Toyota, and I have to say I am very

impressed. I am using it because it has higher amounts of protective and anti corrosive elements added which make it a 15,000 mile oil. I probably will let it go to like 10,000 miles or so before I change it, just because I'm me.

I would maybe suggest purchasing some additive from http://www.militec.com , because they have told me that in some turbo installations the oil has worked wonders to cool off the turbo, because the way Militec works, is that it bonds into the metal, and does not affect the oil. I have used this stuff for the last 6 or 8 years and I love it. I was using Zmax, but the guys in this forum set me straight. (Also, the Zmax Comp. payed off the FCC with a cool million.

)

So anyway, back to Militec for me. Good luck. Welcome to the Internet Oil Information Vortex(Courtesy of http://www.BOBISTHEOILGUY.com ), where all who love oil eventually end up.

PS. Some do not like Militec, but it's ok stuff. It has a chlorinated atom in the formula, but it has been stabilized, and the formula also includes other anti corrosive properties as well. A side note is that

Mobil 1 Extended Performance has like over 3000 ppm of calcium, so I don't really think corrosion to 10,000 miles will be a big deal anyway.

Do you want to pay $$$$$$ for synthetics? If not, I'd try and find a HDEO 10w30. 15w40 is good as well, but your car would probably run peppier with a 10w30.
