New GearWrench Roto-Wratchet

Any tool junkie needs to check into the Roto-Ratchet by GearWrench. I picked up a set of 1/4 & 3/8 drive from Sears for $60. So far it is not popping up on the Gearwrench website but you can e-mail or call for a catalog. The ratchet head swivels to access hard to reach fasteners. Harbor Freight also has a quality made similiar product in the Pittsburg line. But the Gear Wrench is more refined. If anyone else purchased or saw these items let me know what you thought. I like how tool manufacturers are comming up with new designs for tools that have been around forever.

I think their Pittsburg made in Tiawan (Not China) Tools are very good. Most of their stuff is Chineese junk I agree, but please pay attention to where the tool is made. I did notice they are moving away from chineese manufacturers and going to Tiawan.

I use/buy Harbor Freight tools alot, course I'm 65 and lifetime warrenty doesn't mean much unless it covers loosing it. In my case value on a fixed income means whether I get the item or do without.

I have seen the ratchet at HF. I saw a Husky brand one at Home Depot the other day too. The HF model seemed like a pretty good tool but the Husky one definitely had a little better quality feel to it and it had a really fine action on the ratchet mechanism. Looks like it could come in handy on a lot of different jobs, but I have no idea where it is made. The price at Home Depot was about $30.00, I think it was $20.00 at Harbor Freight. One of these might make a good Christmas present for myself this year.

Snap-On did this years ago , but you wouldn't buy 2 for $60 !!

I've got one like Sears item #00987661000 in 3/8" drive. Had it since the early 60's.
Probably the most useful wrench I've ever owned. Every time I open the toolbox I grab it first.

I just recently bought a GearWrench 1/4" drive set. REAL nice. I'll certainly buy more.

Never owned one of those in any brand, though the design has been around for years. I'd sure consider it with Gearwrench's super smooth micro tooth ratchet system. Can't tell from pic, but what'd be really neat is if very end of handle had 3/8 sguare inset so when handle is raised another ratchet or breakover bar sould be used to turn(in other words, make it into a ratcheting extension.)
