Good plan or you could just stick with the Chevron at 3 to 4K intervals, it has shown some nice UOA results.

I'm going to just swag it and say the factory oil is 5W-30 Motocraft. Why not just keep running it until you change to synthetic? It is considered a high quality oil and a Group II/III Blend according to the back of the bottle.

Then you can switch to your group IV/V of choice.

I got a case of Chevron 5W-30 sittin on the shelf. If I didn't I would probably stayed with Motorcraft.

Wife just bought a new Focus SVT. Manual says to use 5W-30 and not to use synthetics until 6k+. I have done a search on this car and another person said factory fill was M1, but manual says specifically that the car does not come from the factory with synthetics. Was thinking of Chevron Supreme 5W-30 at 1k, 4k and then switch to M1 at 7k.

What do you think?

Sounds like a plan. But if you live in a warm climate, I'd use a 10w-30.
