Waiting on USPS to deliver my new Melling MFA350 to convert a 1997 Yukon's 5.7L from the leaky oil cooling system to the traditional set-up. I have a Wix 57099 and, after pulling off the original mounting setup this afternoon, held it up against the block. It looks like it will work but it also looks a little small - like I could use a wider filter and get a better seal with more of the filter gasket on the block.

Anyone using something else on one of these adapters without any leaks?

Thanks as always.

I did the same thing on my '98 K1500. If yours is a 4WD, you will be limited in filter choice due to the front driveshaft. I run either the AC PF454 or the aforementioned Wix 57099. I've read that the Wix 51069 may work, but I have a hard time finding it locally, and looks too close to comfort for me.

If you have a 2wd, this is a non-issue.

Here's a pic of the 51069 installed I found online.

Thanks, folks.

Ron - thanks for the suggestions. I've ordered a couple of the AC Delcos - from Home Depot of all places - to put on the shelf. I'll admit to liking the idea of running the blue filter on a small block Chevy...
