Glad to see it. A lot of people are more aware of the importance of buying American using union labor. It sets the high standard, which is a nice change from the race to the bottom.

FCA is making this move at the same time that it was announced that there would be a loss of an entire shift (+/- 1300 jobs) at the FCA plant in Belvidere, IL. Rob from Peter to pay Paul.

Therefore, the impact is more like 2500 jobs.

Hope it helps . I have seen a documentary or two on Detroit . Very , very sad . Will take a LOT of jobs to turn things around . :-(

I don't think anyone cares who makes the vehicle except current or ex Union Workers. The surge is due to appealing products from a foreign owned company in Jeep and RAM not country of assembly. The profits go abroad.....

I'm glad to see Detroit on the rebound. Through my workplace, I'm proud to have a tiny involvement in the Greening of Detroit project: https://www.crainsdetroit.com/artic...e-on-land-use-as-leader-in-urban-farming

Detroit had at one point 43 auto plants.
If they bet on car industry, they will never rebound.
