New Drums : always replace in pairs?

They say when you replace front brake pads or rotors to always replace in pairs, does this advice/rule also apply to drum brakes? [drum and shoes]

Yes. Otherwise, one side may "pull."

Yep- that applies to pretty much any brake parts. New parts on only one side can make it pull, or it can make one side get much hotter 'cause it's working better (and hence doing all the work).

with drums it is especially true to replace in pairs.

Only one time I haven't replaced drum brake lining in pairs and that was on my Caravan that had a wheel cylinder go out a couple of months after puting new lining on it. Went and bought another new set and just replaced that one side.
