New compressor oils promise huge efficiency increases

there is a difference between total compressor efficiency and the tiny fraction of power currently lost to bearings now. 15% reduction in the .5% or less bearing loss is pretty small.

"huge" does not seem to fit here for going to a different compressor oi.

Now if you were using #6 fuel oil for your compressor oil and went to synthetic compressor oil, then "huge" might be a reasonable description.

The provided link talks about turbines rather than compressors. Am I missing something?

I'm sure on a large scale, seeing an increase in efficiency is quite possible.
