New Champion COS8A oil filter cut open

Just got these from RockAuto yesterday, bought 10, couldn't resist at $1.33 a filter. Couldn't find this particular filter cut open on line so I wanted to check it out before I put it in my vehicle. It looks to be a very well made filter, I like the the upper bypass valve.Next oci i'll try one, and then do a C&P on a used one.

It does look good, almost lols like a Purolaror Mede filter except for the baseplate.

This one looks much better than the RA closeout Champion/FM filter posted recently. Bypass unique, it's like the Champ Labs M1 thread end bypass design, but unlike it, it's not part of the endcap. Separate, like Wix.

Hmm ... The Champion filter I bought a few years ago for my Mazda looked exactly like a Purolator, except its paint. It had a Fram-style number (3593).

My Champion filter came in a round box and had a coil spring not a leaf spring.
