Not really.

There are non-ash cleaners and dispersants not seen here.

Calcium and Magnesium are actually the secondary detergents and dispersants.

The industry is marching toward a very low ash formulation in order to reduce ring, valve, and CC deposits:

A New 0W30

Wow !!! Nice looking oil, that looks like exactly the stuff I would like to use.

A full synthetic 10W30 with a HTHS of 3.3 and a TBN of over 8

Thank you for posting.

May I ask the Noack volatility ?

The listing of only basic elemental and other characteristics was to show the current state of formulations.

Purchasing will be done via the customer's marketing outlets.

Thanks mate.

And even though it's unlikely I will ever be able to buy this oil, given where I live and all. I do appreciate the posting of VOA data from the actual formulator. Like you say, it shows you the state of play for a modern oil, very educational. Thank you.

Great specs. Okay I'll do a google search for "customer's marketing outlets"

That is some seriously nice looking oil, at least based on the details posted. Please be sure to update us once this oil has been "officially released".. since at that point you'll be able to say who it is and what it is.

recently read where Valvoline is formulating oils to hopefully curb deposits in direct injected engines. engine manufacturers seem reluctant prolly due to cost to build engines with direct + port injection
