Neutra 292?

Am I the last to notice that Schaeffer's is selling a Neutra 292 "Purging Fluid?" Sounds like it's just 131 in gallon bottles. But still interesting.

I've never seen it. I wish they had a Product Data Sheet and MSDS on it. Maybe Salesrep can find more info on it, if asked.

Hi Brian. Yeah, I have not posted much recently due to too many obligations. Down but not out! Thanks for letting us know the MSDSs show the two products to be the same.

What is in these products that make them dissolve deposits? I'll check out the MSDS of 131 to maybe get an answer.

Didn't you say you tried 131 in the oil and didn't see much benefit?

EDIT: I checked the MSDS and only 2 chemicals shown are an alcohol and an acid. I think I'll pass on putting that in my motor oil.

Lol, yeah, supposedly they are an "ester-like" compound that softens and dissolves sludge. IIRC, it's a chemical historically used by chimney sweeps. Which makes it puzzling why it didn't work for me. I imagine any of the additives here would probably work in a high enough concentration. I guess the arx is the only one that works decently IN an engine with the normal amount of engine oil....

I went thru a whole case of 131. I think I used maybe 2-3 of those in the crankcase to no avail. So the rest were used for fuel system cleaners.
