NEO Synthetics 0W-5

This sample came out of a 1 gallon container. I shook the container for about a minute then took a sample. Good thing I ran this VOA before using it, otherwise I would have been seriously worry about the Lead number.

Neo's MTF gave my Rx-7 the best shift quality out of all the MTFs I have used. It blows Redline MT-90 out of the water.

What are you planning to run this in?

For now, I am planning to run it in my Street/Strip CBR1000RR. Mostly Strip at Firebird Raceway here in Phoenix.

Its pretty thin. Lead is normal part of their additive package.

Neo MTF was also in 4cst-6cst range at temp. Wouldn't use it in any manual transmission requiring a 90 weight gear oil.

That stuff is seriously old-school - lead nap for anti-wear, diester base stocks, Mag detergents.....There was a really, really good report with the 5W-30 in a Honda Accord (spiderbypass).

I'd LOVE to run Neo oil, if I could find it!

PS - one thing I DON'T get....7.4 cst @100C is a 20-weight!?!?

I'd be interested to know what the HTHS vis is of this oil.
If it is Diester based and with a k'vis of 7.4 cSt @ 100C I suspect it's not that light; I'd guess something in the 2.5 cP area.

I to don't know why they are calling it a 5wt oil. RL's 0W-5 race oil has a 100C k'vis spec' of 4.6 cSt.

I've been interested in NEO Synthetic Oil for many years, but their website provides no critical information. Are they still using diesters, or have they switched to POE? What are the specs for their different grades? Maybe NEO doesn't care about PCMO because of their racing emphasis, but as a synthetic oil pioneer from the 60's, these excuses are running pretty "thin."

From what I gather, Neo has been riding their success of years past for a long time. It sounds like they're near the back of the pack now.

The only products that genuinely interests me are the brake fluids simply because of their very high boil points.
