Need Regular Mercon Fluid. Valvoline Dex/Merc????

I need this fluid for an old E40D that cannot use Mercon V. Is this a good fluid? Will it also work in 4R70W transmissions that were speced prior to mercon v?

I've had success with Valvoline ATF before in a variety of transmissions. I'd use it with no worries.
