Yes, the Pentosin MTF-2 is an impressive fluid. Although it is not officially MB-approved to sheet 235.10 for the 6-speed manual boxes, it is almost identical in viscosity specs for the box.

The MB 235.10 sheet really only lists one product, and that is the Mobil Gear Oil MB 317 (a special syn-blend made just for MB). It is a fine product, and my car shifted great for many years on this product (even in relatively cold weather). However, when the temps started to dip down into the deeper negatives (-15C and below), a noticeable stiffness and reluctance to shift was apparent, as was a slight bearing noise for the first minute of driving or so. Once the Pentosin went in, the same great warm weather shifting remained, but now that the weather is getting colder, the warm-up time needed for good shiftability has dramatically improved.
