Ok, on my 97 Escort I need to replace the internal linkages on it, due to them wearing out b4 the OE shoes have!
The shop that I have had diagnosing the brake problems, have mentioned that the brake parts will all need replacing as their pretty warn, and will need replacement when the rear brakes start to act up again.
I know it's no a problem with the rear ebrake cables, but I'm quite sure it's the springs etc. While I'm in there I may as well do the shoes to ensure I won't have to tough those things for a good long while again!
Is there a grease I can use on the internals to ensure I wont' have to open the drums every spring and fall for servicing? I have some Amsoil red synthetic grease that I've been using for my ball joints and my tie rod ends. Can I use this grease in this situation? From the posts I've read, the petroleum greases arent' as good for the brake components (high heat I suppose).
Your comments and suggestions are highly welcomed!
