Need an oil weight answer.

My dad just got a 2001 Benz CLK320 with no owners manual! I found a sticker under the hood saying Mobil1 is recommended. But no weight was spec. Anyone have this car living in 20-90 degree temp area?

FWIW Mobil Oz web site says M1 5W50 or Super XHP which covers 10W40, 15W40, 15W50, 20W50 dino oils for CLK320.

OK, here's an 'oil weight answer'. All engine oil weighs about 0.9 times as much as water.

That car should take about 9.5 liters of Mobil-1 0W-40. However, the engine is also spec'd for 0W-30, 5W-40, 10W-40, etc. It's a beast so it isn't very picky about what it eats. [ March 09, 2004, 06:21 AM: Message edited by: FowVay ]

So, which is heavier ? A pound of oil, or a pound of water ? Which is more dense ?
