Okay,
I bought up a close out on Mobil1.
It is the Tri-Synthetic 10w30 SJ/SH CF.
I have a '99 Camry 3.0 V6 possible oil muncher.
Car has always had Castrol GTX.3k or less.AutoRx two treatment,a few changes prior.
I currently add 3oz ARx and 5oz 132 moly to GTX.
I want to use this oil for winter.
Can I hope it will go 4-5k with out it shearing too bad.
The car sees severe service type city driving.
parked outside with a remote starter.
I have searched the UOA for similar use info to no avail.
I dont think I should worry about dino to synthetic, right?
Panel??
Thanks,
RichR

Sorry for the delay Rich! You should be fine, just don't go too far with it. Trisynthetic was known to thin down to a 20wt very often. In fact, it really wasn't that good of an oil IMO. Amsoil had it all over Mobil back then. Keep adding the Rx for safety and go for it. Mobil 1 and Amsoil are compatible with each other and dino oil so using either brand is fine even though the car was previously run on dino oil.
