E-Bay has lots of old oil cans for sale, but I saw one that may be of particular interest - an old can of Conoco Polar Start DN600 Fluid! Take a look: http://cgi.ebay.com/OLD-1940s-CONOCO-POLAR-START-FULL-OIL-CAN-NR_W0QQitemZ130019197238QQihZ003QQcategoryZ35682QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem As many of you know, this oil was one of the first commercial synthetic oils avaliable for Arctic use in the late 1960's/early 1970's, and a can of it can be seen in the 1976 Popular Science article on Synthetic oils that has been discussed here. The person selling the item says it is from the 1940's, but the 'SE' service rating places it in the early-to-mid 1970's, the same time as the article. I get a kick out of old oil items like this, so I just thought that maybe someone else would want to see what this can looked like and said up close. Enjoy!
