Agreed. While I'm of the opinion they deserve a good whacking over this one, it can't be easy to be in their shoes. They found out in a very direct and difficult fashion that belief systems and pseudoscience don't do much for a deadly disease.

This was posted by the father to social media. Even now, he's blaming the ambulance and a conspiracy for his son's death and his arrest. The lack of personal responsibility is unreal. I'm not a mental health professional, but the failure to acknowledge his part in this makes me wonder what sort of personality disorder he has. The more extreme end of the alternative medicine crowd is like a cult. They're so invested in the woo that they will refuse to acknowledge any evidence, coming up with grand conspiracies to justify their disregard of facts or reason.

Here is another story on his idiotic letter. I hope the Crown does tender it at a sentencing hearing. At a minimum, the Crown should not agree to a join sentencing recommendation with defence, unless it's too good to pass up. That way, there will be a sentencing hearing, rather than a submission, and that will ring up the parents' legal bills nicely.
