Some of the filters don't have a bypass valve at all, because the filter bypass valve is built into the engine block where the filter mounts - ie, GM small block V8s for instance.

That's because it is not a rebadged Wix filter like the golds. It is a NAPA filter, built by Wix to NAPA specs.

You really should not post about things you know nothing about.

Baldwin is made by Clarcor. Wix is a subsidiary of Dana, and they make the NAPA and Carquest filters. Honeywell makes Fram and a host of other brands and some OEM filters. Champion Labs makes Super Tech filters, as well as Mobil 1, K&N, and a host of OEM filters (including Mopar and Motorcraft factory fit). Purolator is another Clarcor brand and they make Motorcraft (service) filters, as well as Bosch oil filters (in the US).

If the application requires a bypass valve, there is a bypass valve. Look a little farther into the filter and you will see a "spring and button" type bypass valve on the endcap.
