today i went to napa and they had my filter (1372) for my fords in the new yellow box and on the side it says toa glass enhanced media needless to say i bought 2...this really is a great need for the absolute best oil filter...i wish bob would test this new filter made by wix..
they had this same number 1372 in the old white box that does not say glass enhanced

They've been using the T03 glass enhanced media in their filters for a few years now, this is nothing new. All Wix, NAPA Gold, Kralinator and Carquest Premium filters use this media.

in my filter for instance this is brand new according to wix before they used cellulose media in all their filters.....i confirmed this several times with engin. dept at dana...the glass media in eventually all their filters is new....all their line of filters has used paper for years quote from wix via spec sheets they sent me for all their filters

Apparently the move towards glass/synthetic based media is due to longer drain intervals and a resulting rise in acids in the oils used in fleets. The old tried and true paper media is starting to fail at the longer drain intervals.

I found an article online about this while surfing for info on bypass filters. It was in some online fleet management magazine if you want to look for it.

I like trying different types of oil filters but Wix has to be one of the best in terms of build quality. They are right up there with Mann and the high end Champions (K&N and M1).
