Napa Gold 7899 cut open - 10,090 miles

This is a Napa Gold 7899 filter that was in use for 10,090 miles on my dad's 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L V8. I go by the oil life monitor. Filter seems in great shape. The Jeep currently has around 55,000 miles on it.

It was replaced with a Fram XG2 this time around since I wanted to try one and WalMart had them on rollback. I think I'll probably go back to the Napa Gold next change.

WIX/NAPA Golds are decent filters ... in the top 3 for me.

+1 - in the top two for me. Hope nothing changes quality wise on WIX Gold or FRAM Ultra.

If you would cut the Fram XG2 I would appreciate it. Just changed the oil in the Dodge 1500 2002 5.9L/360 engine using a XG2. Also picked up the Wix (house brand maker for O'Reilly's) that I plan to use next time.

We just got this truck last month. Owner said oil change had 1000 miles on it. We added Archoil AR9100 and drove it about 300 more miles and had it changed. Ran 15w40 rotella to help clean up the motor and added AR9100 again. Changed it last Sat at 1200 miles because it was getting very dark. I have not cut the filter. It is a Group 7 by purolator used by the quick lube place.

Used 10w30 semi blend Trop Artic (Motor Craft source).

I will be sure to cut the Fram XG2 when it comes off. The previous oil was Pennzoil Platinum 5w20. The Jeep is currently running SuperTech synthetic 5w20. The 5.7L Hemi has a large sump, it holds about 7.5 qts.
